July Camp NaNoWriMo is just round the corner! What are you guys doing for it? After the high of completing NaNoWriMo2016 and then April Camp 2017 and getting my groove back into writing — and I’m enjoying writing Rune Mageso much — I’m pretty psyched to do July Camp 2017.
The problem is as always: do I carry on with what I have and finish it as the NaNo project, or do I pick up something else I’ve been meaning to do for ages and just finish Rune Mage at a leisurely pace?
Either way, I think I’ll start plotting for a new novel during my week off next week and see if I have enough fodder to do it for Camp. If not, it’ll be Rune Mage all the way to the end.
This one started a bit slower than the others. The first two sections about the singing doesn’t seem to progress the story any: it was rehearsals and yet more rehearsals (which I get, but the story then drags as a result). There are quite a few names – perhaps introduce them one by one instead of all at once to let us get to know them better and know their place in the formation. The third section definitely got the story going – people are disappearing, some are overly anxious, others are more laidback. This is the cue for me to realise something was wrong and to carry on reading.
Check out this witty supernatural thriller with witches and the undead and food obsession, a Watty2015 winner! Can I just emphasise the food obsession part, because after only two or three chapters it definitely got my stomach grumbling for more.
Feeding Frenzy is a supernatural thriller which explores our obsession with food. Sweet but chubby Tonya isn’t privy to her town’s darkest secrets, but when campus is overrun by a deadly obesity epidemic, only she can resist a hidden mind-controlling entity. Can Tonya uncover the mystery of its power before it’s too late? It’s a witch’s brew of intrigue with a dollop of comedy, a teaspoon of romance, and a pinch of horror. Read on if you dare…
