Projects for 2019

2018 has been a busy year of exams, long working hours, and not much productivity in terms of fiction writing after April Camp NaNoWriMo 2018. I did actually have a November NaNoWriMo project, but that soon faltered after 3k words because I couldn’t juggle that and 30-hour on-call shifts seven times a month. I was too drained.

With that said, I do have a few projects I wanted to work on this year and, with luck, some of them will actually come to fruition. (Contains spoilers for works already available online.)

Books 1 and 2 saw Ari and friends realise the fallacy that was March City, their breaking out, their short-lived peaceful period as the dogs of Candra, and subsequent breakout as their own society. But at the end of Book 2, Mina is missing and their immediate surrounding is full of apparently brainless, infected Users keen on wreaking destruction, and Ari isn’t sure how much time she has until Mina, who is bitter and walked out of Candra of her own volition, also succumbs to the disease.

Books 1 followed Seiren’s journey into restoring her dead sister, Madeleine, whilst unwittingly uncovering a devastating plan by the powerful to sacrifice the countrymen to revive ancient, deadly magic. Book 2 saw them chasing after Kristen, the brains behind the genocide, as she escapes to Hanna, the dread nation of savages and demons. When the equally power-hungry royal of Hanna successfully brings back an ancient, vengeful being, the end of Book 2 sees that being stealing Madeleine’s body. Seiren now has to partner up with Kristen to seek help from an equally ancient and powerful being to save her sister.

If my NaNoWriMo project gains progress, I will announce it here, but if it ends up on my ‘To-Do’ pile alongside the rest of the plot bunnies, then it won’t be seen for quite a while…

What are your writing plans for 2019?
