Book Review: The Poppy War by RF Kuang

In my seemingly neverending reading slump, I found The Poppy War. And, boy, was I glad. I am blown away.  If you’re looking for a thrilling dark fantasy based on Chinese history that is non-romance-heavy with an underdog heroine with questionable morality, The Poppy War is for you. Contains spoilers, duh.

I am breathless. What a book….

It’s been a while since this blog has been updated because life has been busy! You’ll want to read this post, because it’s an update for upcoming news and a giveaway!

Film Review: Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum

If you like horror films — actual edge-of-your-pants, “Is this real or isn’t it”, honest-to-goodness horror films — and don’t mind chasing subtitles, you need to check out this film. It’s super creepy without resorting to cheap scare tactics or music, LOVED it. I always hated the recent mainstream Hollywood scary films with either really…

Book Review: Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

I tried to get into Veronica Roth’s books. But perhaps the stars didn’t align or whatever. I got Divergent and was bored after Chapter 1. I started this one and… also got bored. DNF’d after — I lost count. A few chapters. I don’t think this post contains enough information to spoil, considering I did…
